Tennessee Family-Day 2, October 24th, Session 1 with Kathy and Darryl .

Hello,  We arrived October 23, Sunday, at our Host Family, Kathy and husband Darryl, Springhill, Tennessee. We were blessed with the warmth and generosity of their Southern Hospitality. Following is a
sampling of the wonderful time we hand with the three Southern nieces and their families, Kathy, Debbie, and Jen.  They all live within a short drive from each other. Following is a whirlwind three days of fun bonding with my nieces and their families.

So here goes:

Out hosts, Kathy and Darryl, their daughter Allysa,
grandson, 15 month old, Gasner, Jr. and
 7 day-old granddaughter, Nala.
 Peggy was taking the picture.

Meet Gasner Sr.. The proud dad of Gasner,Jr. and Nala.

Meet baby Nala's big brother, Gasner Jr., held by "Aunt" Peggy.

Kathy opening up our Host gift.

Beautiful plants through out the house.
Kathy had a beautiful story about each plant she received from family and friends.

Old School Cafe.
You need to experience this.  It is an old school, parts originally built in late 1800's and added on over the years but became obsolete.  The school is being retrofitted for different uses.

The Old School Cafe is set up in an original classroom.

While we were waiting to eat,
 Kathy and Peggy thought
I needed to be kept busy playing with the latches.
HEE HEE

The food is absolutely out of this world.

We had a wonderful time with Kathy.  Now we will go home to Kathy's house and Peggy and I will continue onto niece Debbie and husband Cliff's home to enjoy a 5:00 PM Lasagna meal before we head out to niece Jen and husband Harmon's home for desert and the Annual Family Pumpkin Carving event.

Until we see you later, Peggy and Jimmy

New Orlean' Trip of a life time--Cousin Carrie and son Dennis

This is our TRIP OF A LIFE TIME !  We started out October 20 heading for New Orleans to be part of Peggy's God-son (Kevin's), wedding.

We plan to visit along the way, stopping in Everson, PA; Springhill, TN; Jacksonville, FL; Cary, NC; Raleigh, NC; and Lancaster, PA.  'Triptik', calculated 3000 miles and at least three weeks.

October 20, 2016--It was one of the most gorgeous road trips we had been on, traveling down Rt 6 from Waverly, heading to Pittsburg area.  The views were absolutely "the best I had seen" (Peggy adds, "In '73 years !"). Problem was my battery died and didn't get any beautiful pictures of the country side.

Our first stop was to visit cousin Carrie , Everson, PA (SE of Pittsburg).

This is the house where cousin Carrie and son Dennis and family live.
This is Carrie's part of the house. They added a bedroom with two sets of these windows. Carrie's plants are gorgeous. She has her own renovated kitchen and living room.

The above three pictures were taken at Penn State.  Peggy saw a sign for Visitor's Center, so we turned into campus.  The sign was for the Football Stadium and campus.  That was OK as we saw the 80,000 Football Stadium  and close by the  Dairy Research Facilities. I love dairy animals.

We then traveled on to Kentucky.
The best was our meal at "Blue Isle"  in Winchester, KY.
The BBQ ribs were out of this world.  This was a 1/2 order.
That's all for now.  We can't wait to visit the nieces in Tennessee.

Love, Uncle Jimmy and Peggy

Adult Coloring Books, What a Wonderful Experience.

Hello,
Wow, who would of ever thought we would be joining the "Adult  Color Book Club". !!!  It all got started last week.  Peggy's two younger grandchildren, Kelsey, 11, and Valerie, 9, rotate a Grandma Day once a week.  Last week was Valerie's turn.  Peggy likes to try new things for them to do, so she bought a $1.00 children's color kit with one picture to color with wax crayons.

Valerie and Jimmy's Color by Numbers.

I started liking to color, big mistake???.  Ended up going to A.C. Moore's and buying ADULT COLOR BOOKS and colored pencils.  The following Art work is results of spending the last few days dedicated to coloring in my Adult Color Book.

I colored this one, my first of this series, as a tribute to all those "Tent Campers".

Don and Emma and Peggy, this one is a tribute to us "Trailer Campers".

Well, that's all for now folks.  Got to get back to COLORING.

Love You, Peggy and Jimmy

Jesus Calling, January 22

Good Morning,

Peggy and I have found reading devotional books adds opportunity for a deeper more personal meaning to our relationships: our relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit; and our own relationship with each other.

The following devotion is from  Jesus Calling, Enjoy Peace in His Presence, by Sarah Young.  She writes her narratives as if Jesus was talking, based on her understanding of the Bible. Today's reading, January 22, pg 23, is based on Psalm 52:8 and Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) .

“Strive to Trust Me in more and more areas of your life. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties. If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations. Don't waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been. Start at the present moment—accepting things exactly as they are—and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances.
Trust is like a staff you can lean on, as you journey uphill with Me. If you are trusting in Me consistently, the staff will bear much of your weight as needed. Lean on, trust, and be confident in Me with all your heart and mind.”

Our prayer is asking God to give us the strength to trust in Him, for we are weak and He is strong.  I love that song, Jesus Loves Me.

Your comments are welcomed.

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it.

We love you,  Peggy and Jimmy

Celebrating New Year's Day, 1/1/2016

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year 2016.  Peggy was doing her floor exercises in the living room and afterward she came into my office/bedroom and said she had a surprise for me and not to come out of my room.  As an ever obedient fiance, I obeyed.  It was well worth the suspense !!!!!

Peggy comes into my office with this delectable appetizer and Club Soda drinks.  What a wonderful way to show her love for me.  While doing floor exercises, this thought came to her how to do something special for me.  She refers to this as a "God-thought."

Mom and Dad were enjoying our engaging moments as much as we were.
They enjoyed life and wanted their children to, too.

This is my sweetheart, the every amazing woman that enjoys making me happy.
Thank you, my Peggy

The spoiling had only begun.  I had to stay in my room a while longer.  Then Peggy lovingly called to me and said the next course is ready, "Come my dear and eat with me".

Peggy loves to create luscious treats like this salad.  It was hmmm hmmm good.

And to top it off, Peggy brought out this dish of Christmas cookies (made by her good friend, Kathy, from church).  Peggy made us Dunkin Donut coffee to go with those delicious cookies.

We love you all.  Have a wonderful New Year full of love.  Peggy and Jimmy
